As much as I am an artist, I am also a horseman. It is important for me to take time to focus on my horsemanship and pursue my goals of becoming an instructor so I can help people understand their horses. Often when I do this I become charged with ideas and emotions that are perfect for making art about how we communicate with horses. This piece was created at the Parelli International Study Center in Pagosa Springs Colorado where I spent the summer of 2004. I was able to interact with many students who had lots of ideas about my artwork while it was in mid creation. The piece Unity was created on the theme of understanding the horse and trying to go somewhere as a partnership.
