As much as I am an artist, I am also a horseman. It is important for me to take time to focus on my horsemanship and pursue my goals of becoming an instructor so I can help people understand their horses. Often when I do this I become charged with ideas and emotions that are perfect for making art about how we communicate with horses. This piece was created at the Parelli International Study Center in Ocala Florida where I spent 10 weeks studying from January to April. I was able to interact with many students who had lots of ideas about my artwork while it was in mid creation. The piece Journey is symbolic for my own learning as it propels me forward with my horses and my art.
